Welcome to https://webinar.ng (the ”Site”). We understand that privacy online is important to users of our Site, especially when conducting business. This statement governs our privacy policies with respect to those users of the Site (”Visitors”) who visit without transacting business and Visitors who register to transact business on the Site (“Members”) and make use of the various applications and services offered by Webinar Engine (collectively, ”Services”)

This Privacy Policy explains how Webinar Engine collects, shares, and uses any information that relates to you when you use our Site, engage with us on social media, or otherwise interact with us (your “Personal Data”). This Privacy Policy also explains the rights you have concerning the Personal Data that we process and how you can exercise these rights.

We may change provisions of this Policy from time to time and will indicate when changes have been made by revising the date at the top of this Policy.  We encourage you to review the Policy whenever you access the Services to make sure that you understand our practices. If we make material changes to this Policy, we will provide you with additional notice.

Principles

Webinar Engine manifests its commitment to privacy and data protection by embracing the following principles.

  • We use Personal Data lawfully, fairly, and in a transparent manner.
  • We collect no more Personal Data than necessary, and only for a legitimate purpose.
  • We retain no more data than necessary or for a longer period than needed.
  • We protect Personal Data with appropriate security measures.

Data We Collect

This policy applies only to information collected on the Site. We collect two types of information from visitors to our websites:

  1. Personal Data.
  2. Non-personal Data.

”Personally Identifiable Information”

refers to any information that identifies or can be used to identify, contact, or locate the person to whom such information pertains, including, but not limited to, name, address, phone number, fax number, email address, financial profiles, social security number, and credit card information. Personally Identifiable Information does not include information that is collected anonymously (that is, without identification of the individual user) or demographic information not connected to an identified individual.

”Non-Personally Identifiable Information”

Non-personal Data can be technical in nature. It does not identify you personally. Examples of non-Personal Data may include (but are not limited to) cookies, web beacons, and demographic information.

What Personally Identifiable Information is collected?

We may collect this information when you create a profile on our Site, visit our Site, or complete a purchase. We collect the following additional information from our Members: the names, addresses, phone numbers and email addresses of Members, the nature and size of the business, and the nature and size of the advertising inventory that the Member intends to purchase or sell. We may collect additional information that you provide when using our Services, such as when you:  (1) subscribe to any product; (2) participate in events, forums or promotions; (3) send questions or comments via email or live chat; (4) interact with our sales or customer support team; (5) apply for a job with us or through us online; (6) fill out surveys; or (7) otherwise communicate with us through or about our Services.

If you participate in a video conference with us, your host may record the session and retain the recordings. We will notify you first that the session is being recorded so that you can choose not to participate.  If you participate in a training or product course, we collect completion data.

We store, process, and maintain files and content that you create and/or upload using our applications, as well as other data related to your account in order to provide the Services to you.

We do not store any credit card information we receive except as necessary to complete and satisfy our rights and obligations with regard to such transaction, billing arrangement, and/or as otherwise authorized by you.

What organizations are collecting the information?

In addition to our direct collection of information, our third-party service vendors (such as credit card companies, clearinghouses and banks) who may provide such services as credit, insurance, and escrow services may collect this information from our Visitors and Members only to the extent necessary. We do not control how these third parties use such information, but we do ask them to disclose how they use personal information provided to them from Visitors and Members. Some of these third parties may be intermediaries that act solely as links in the distribution chain, and do not store, retain, or use the information given to them.

Information from third parties and integration partners or Affiliates.  

If you arrive at https://webinar.ng from an external source (such as a link on another website or in an email), we record information about the source that referred you to us.

We may obtain personal information from third parties and combine such information with the information that we collect through our website or app and such information may be used for the purposes described in the “How does the Site use Personally Identifiable Information” section below.  For example:

  • You give permission to those third parties to share your information with us or where you have made that information publicly available online.
  • You create or log into your account through a third-party social networking site or one of our integration partners, we will have access to certain information from that service such as your name and account information.
  • If you purchase our Product, we may receive information from our third-party payment processors.
  • We may collect information from unaffiliated third parties so that we can better understand you and provide you with information and offers that may interest you.

How does the Site use Personally Identifiable Information?

We use Personally Identifiable Information to verify your identity, to customize the Site, to make appropriate service offerings, to fulfil buying and selling requests on the Site and for fraud prevention purposes. We may email Visitors and Members about research or purchase and selling opportunities on the Site or information related to the subject matter of the Site. We may also use Personally Identifiable Information to contact Visitors and Members in response to specific inquiries, or to provide requested information.

With whom may the information be shared?

Personally Identifiable Information about Members may be shared with other Members who wish to evaluate potential transactions with other Members. We may share aggregated information about our Visitors, including the demographics of our Visitors and Members, with our affiliated agencies and third-party vendors. We also offer the opportunity to ”opt out” of receiving information or being contacted by us or by any agency acting on our behalf.

How is Personally Identifiable Information stored?

Personally Identifiable Information collected by Webinar Engine is securely stored and is not accessible to third parties or employees of Webinar Engine except for use as indicated above.

Your information, including Personal Data, may be transferred to – and maintained on – computers located outside of your state, province, country, or other governmental jurisdiction where the data protection laws may differ from those of your jurisdiction. If you choose to provide information to us, please note that we transfer the data, including Personal Data, to and process it from there.

All data that you provide to use through our Services is stored on our secure servers located in the U.S  but may also, whenever necessary, be transferred to and processed in a country outside of the USA. Any such transfer of your Personal Data will be carried out in compliance with applicable laws and without undermining your statutory rights.

Any payment transactions will be encrypted using SSL technology; all payment data is stored by our payment processors and is never stored on our servers. Where we have given you (or where you have chosen) a password that enables you to access your account and the Service, you are responsible for keeping this password confidential. We recommend that you not share your password and that you change it frequently.

Your consent to this Privacy Policy followed by your submission of such information represents your agreement to these terms.

Webinar Engine will take all the steps reasonably necessary to ensure that your data is treated securely and in accordance with this Privacy Policy and no transfer of your Personal Data will take place to an organization or a country unless there are adequate controls in place including the security of your data and other personal information. While the security of your data is important to us, remember that no method of transmission over the Internet or method of electronic storage is 100% secure. Thus, while we strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect your Personal Data, we cannot guarantee its absolute security.

For how long is the stored Data retained?

Webinar Engine stores the information we collect for as long as necessary for the purpose for which it was originally collected and in compliance with our legal obligations.  The retention periods applied by Webinar Engine comply with applicable legislation then in effect, namely:

  • For data relating to your account, such data will not be retained beyond your request that your account be deleted.
  • For transactional data relating to your purchases, such data is kept for the entire period of our contractual relationship, then in accordance with legal obligations and applicable statute of limitations periods.  Please note that this data does not include payment card information, which is processed by our third-party payment processors and not Webinar Engine.
  • For data collected based on your consent to receive marketing communications, we will use the data until you withdraw your consent or applicable law requires that such data is no longer used.
  • For data collected in connection with your requests or questions, such data is kept for the period necessary to process and reply to your request or question.
  • When cookies or other trackers are placed on your computer, they may be retained for a period of 12 months.
  • We may retain certain information for legitimate business purposes or as required by law.

What about lawful Data Disclosure?

Under certain circumstances, Webinar Engine may be required to disclose your Personal Data if required to do so by law or in response to valid requests by public authorities (e.g. a court or a government agency). We only do so in the good faith belief that such action is necessary to:

  • To comply with a legal obligation
  • To protect and defend the rights or property of Webinar Engine
  • To prevent or investigate possible wrongdoing in connection with the Site
  • To protect the personal safety of users of the Site or the public
  • To protect against legal liability

What choices are available to you regarding collection, use and distribution of the information?

Visitors and Members may opt out of receiving unsolicited information from or being contacted by us and/or our vendors and affiliated agencies by responding to emails as instructed, or by contacting us at privacy@webinar.ng. You may freely exercise your rights regarding the use of your Personal Data in the following ways:

Right to access: You have the right to request information about the Personal Data we hold on you at any time. You can contact us at privacy@webinar.ng.  and we will provide you with your Personal Data via e-mail.

Right to portability: Whenever Webinar Engine processes your Personal Data, you have the right to get a copy of your data transferred to you or to another party. This only includes the Personal Data you have submitted to us.

Right to rectification: You have the right to request rectification of your Personal Data if the information is incorrect, including the right to have incomplete Personal Data completed.

Right to erasure: You have the right to erase any Personal Data processed by Webinar Engine at any time except for the following situations:

  • you have an ongoing matter with Customer Service
  • you have an open order which has not yet been processed or partially processed.
  • you have an unsettled debt with Webinar Engine, regardless of the payment method
  • if you are suspected or have misused our services within the last three months
  • if you have made any purchase, we will keep your Personal Data in connection to your transaction for book-keeping purposes

Right to object to processing based on legitimate interest: You have the right to object to the processing of your Personal Data that is based on Webinar Engine’s legitimate interest. Webinar Engine will not continue to process the Personal Data unless we can demonstrate legitimate grounds for the process which overrides your interest and rights or due to legal claims.

Right to restriction: You have the right to request that Webinar Engine restricts the process of your Personal Data under the following circumstances:

  • if you object to processing Webinar Engine’s legitimate interest, Webinar Engine shall restrict all processing of such data pending the verification of the legitimate interest.
  • if you have claimed that your Personal Data is incorrect, Webinar Engine must restrict all processing of such data pending the verification of the accuracy of the Personal Data.
  • if the processing is unlawful you can oppose the erasure of Personal Data and instead request the restriction of the use of your Personal Data instead
  • if Webinar Engine no longer needs the Personal Data but it is required by you to defend legal claims.

Children Age 16 and Under

Webinar Engine services are not directed at children under the age of 16 and we never knowingly collect personal information from children.  We recognize the special obligation to protect personally identifiable information obtained from children age 13 and under. IF YOU ARE 16 YEARS OLD OR YOUNGER, THE COMPANY REQUESTS THAT YOU NOT SUBMIT ANY PERSONALLY IDENTIFIABLE INFORMATION TO THE SITE OR TO WEBINAR ENGINE. If a child may be required to access certain services provided by us, we demand parental consent and confirmation that such use shall be supervised by a parent or responsible adult and that such account(s) have been created by the direct responsible adult supervisor.

If we discover that a child age 16 or younger has signed up for our services or provided us with personally identifiable information, without requisite parental consent, we will delete that child’s identifiable information from our records.

Webinar Engine nonetheless encourages parents to go online with their kids. Here are a few tips to help make a child’s online experience safer:

  • Teach kids never to give personal information, unless supervised by a parent or responsible adult. Includes name, address, phone, school, etc.
  • Know the sites your kids are visiting and which sites are appropriate.
  • Look for Website privacy policies. Know how your child’s information is treated.

How about Residents of the European Economic Area

We provide the representations and information in this section in compliance with European privacy laws, in particular the European General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). If you are a visitor from the European Territories (including the European Economic Area, Switzerland, and the United Kingdom), our legal basis for collecting and using the personal data described above will depend on the personal information concerned and the specific context in which we collect it Please review other rights of EU data subjects here.

Are Cookies Used on the Site?

We use cookies and similar tracking technologies to track the activity on our Site and we hold certain information. Cookies are files with a small amount of data which may include an anonymous unique identifier. Cookies are sent to your browser from our Site and stored on your device.

Cookies are used for a variety of reasons and we use Cookies to obtain information about the preferences of our Visitors, Members and whatever services they select. Cookies make using our website easier by, among other things, saving your passwords and preferences for you. We also use Cookies for security purposes to protect our Customers.

Other tracking technologies are also used such as beacons, tags, and scripts to collect and track information and to improve and analyze our Site. These cookies are restricted for use only on our website, and do not transfer any personal information to any other party. You can instruct your browser to refuse all cookies or to indicate when a cookie is being sent. However, if you do not accept cookies, you may not be able to use some portions of our Site.

How does Webinar Engine use login information?

Webinar Engine uses login information, including, but not limited to, IP addresses, ISPs, and browser types, to analyze trends, improve our products, administer the Site, send you advertising or promotional materials, track a user’s movement and use, and gather broad demographic information.

What partners or service providers have access to Personally Identifiable Information from Visitors and/or Members on the Site?

Webinar Engine has entered into and will continue to enter into partnerships and other affiliations with a number of vendors. Such vendors may have access to certain Personally Identifiable Information on a need to know basis for evaluating Members for service eligibility. Our privacy policy does not cover their collection or use of this information. Disclosure of Personally Identifiable Information to comply with law. We will disclose Personally Identifiable Information in order to comply with a court order or subpoena or a request from a law enforcement agency to release information. We will also disclose Personally Identifiable Information when reasonably necessary to protect the safety of our Visitors and Members.

How about Advertising and analytics services provider by third parties?  

We may allow others to provide analytics services and display advertisements for our Product. These providers (for example, Google Analytics) may use cookies, web beacons, device identifiers, and other tracking technologies that collect information about your use of our Product.  This information may be used by us and others to determine the popularity of our Services, deliver advertising and content targeted to your interests in the Services, and on other websites, apps, and other products, and to better understand your online activity.  You can find out more about this practice or opt out of your web browsing activity for interest-based advertising purposes by visiting https://aboutads.info/choices.  You can opt out of Google Analytics by visiting https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.

How does the Site keep Personally Identifiable Information secure?

All of our employees are familiar with our security policy and practices. The Personally Identifiable Information of our Visitors and Members is only accessible to a limited number of qualified employees who are given a password in order to gain access to the information. We audit our security systems and processes on a regular basis. Sensitive information, such as credit card numbers or social security numbers, is protected by encryption protocols, in place to protect information sent over the Internet. While we take commercially reasonable measures to maintain a secure site, electronic communications and databases are subject to errors, tampering and break-ins, and we cannot guarantee or warrant that such events will not take place and we will not be liable to Visitors or Members for any such occurrences.

How about Data Shared in Sub-sites or posted on Forums?

Webinar Engine members who use our networking section at https://meet.webinar.ng and other sub-sites are bound by the same Webinar Engine terms and may have the ability to post content to one or more portals or forums, such as chat rooms and bulletin boards. You should be aware that when you voluntarily disclose personal information in any forum, that information can be collected and used by others and may result in unsolicited messages from other people. You are responsible for the personal information you choose to submit in these instances. Please take care when using these features.  You may request and obtain removal of such posted content by contacting us at support@webinar.ng and specifically identifying the content to be removed.  Please be advised that any such removal does not ensure complete or comprehensive removal of all traces of the content posted on the forums.

How can Visitors correct any inaccuracies in Personally Identifiable Information?

Can a Visitor delete or deactivate Personally Identifiable Information collected by the Site?

We provide Visitors and Members with a mechanism to delete/deactivate Personally Identifiable Information from the Site’s database by contacting. However, because of backups and records of deletions, it may be impossible to delete a Visitor’s entry without retaining some residual information. An individual who requests to have Personally Identifiable Information deactivated will have this information functionally deleted, and we will not sell, transfer, or use Personally Identifiable Information relating to that individual in any way moving forward.
